Pickapeppa Sauce | Local Condiment From Shooters Hill, Jamaica | TasteAtlas

Pickapeppa Sauce

Pickapeppa sauce is a branded Jamaican condiment made from tomatoes, sugar, vinegar, onions, mangos, tamarind, raisins, peppers, and various other spices. The combination is aged in oak barrels for a year before it is bottled and sold to consumers.

The sauce has a sweet, tangy flavor, and it is often used in Jamaica just like ketchup – in dips or as a marinade for various barbecued meats. Pickapeppa sauce has been owned by the Pickapeppa Company since 1921.
