Trenne

Trenne is a traditional pasty variety originating from Abruzzo. The name says everything – it's penne pasta with triangular edges and cross-section. This pasta variety is made with a combination of durum wheat semolina and water. It's recommended to serve trenne with pesto or olive oil-based sauces.

Alternatively, use trenne in baked dishes. The shape of trenne is often praised by cooks because it stacks nicely on the plate.
