Miel Villuercas-Ibores

Miel Villuercas-Ibores is a honey produced in the southeast of the province of Caceres, occupying the regions of the Villuercas and Ibores. It is a forest or multiflowered honey made from the nectar of local trees and herbs. Less frequently, single flower chestnut or broom (Retama sphaerocarpa) honey is produced.


The characteristics of this honey vary largely depending on the place where it is collected. The color ranges from light yellow to dark amber and almost red, and the flavor ranges from mellow and soft to bitter and aromatic with almost salty notes.
