Kenne

Kenne is an American cheese hailing from Tomales, California, where it's produced by Tomales Farmstead Creamery. The cheese is made from pasteurized goat's milk and it's left to age for about 2 weeks before consumption. Underneath its natural moldy rind, the texture of its chalky white body is semi-soft.

The aromas are goaty and milky, while the flavors are very mild and earthy with hints of salted pretzels and rye. It's recommended to serve Kenne with figs, dried figs, or fig jam. The name of the cheese is a Miwok word for one.
