Shiawassee is an American apple variety originating from Shiawassee County, Michigan and dating back to 1850. It is believed that the apple is an offspring of Fameuse (Snow Apple), and it was discovered in the orchard of Beebe Truesdell.
The apples are medium-sized and round, while the skin is yellow and covered with a red flush. Beneath the skin, the texture of the flesh is tender, crisp, fine-grained, and moderately juicy. The aromas are strong, while the flavors are slightly sour.
