"The sandwich has two main components, the bread, called 'bake,' which is fried roti dough, and the shark, a fried filet. Think of a giant flattened zeppole, or puffier Indian fry bread — about the size of pita, but much thicker. The bread is freshly fried — chewy and doughy, with great give. The fish is freshly fried too — flaky and moist, juicy and seasoned. The bake and shark are good enough, but the condiment station takes things to higher level."
"Almost all agree, though, that RIchard's bake and shark is the best, and he certainly has the line to prove it. The wait at Richard's is usually pretty long, but the pay off is always worth it!"

"Richards Bake and Shark - this is THE famous Bake and Shark in Trinidad and I was pleasantly surprised that it lived up to the hype. This was a hefty sandwich with a generous serving of fried shark and there was a bar with a variety of fresh vegetables and sauces."
"If you go to Maracas beach, you have to have Bake and Shark from Richards! It’s basically fried bread with fried shark in it. Add pepper sauce, onions, lettuce, pineapples, or tomato to taste. It is DELISH."
"The best place to get bake and shark in Maracas. The "bake" is delicious, soft bread made in a big oven and the "shark" is crispy battered and fried fish."
"Although this is an extremely popular dish in all of Trinidad and Tobago, the absolute place you need to go is Richard’s Bake and Shark. Don’t get your Bake and Shark from imitators, Richard’s Bake and Shark is the original, and they’re the ones that came up with the concept. Richard’s Bake and Shark is located on Maraca’s Beach, and it totally makes sense. Why would you want to go too far to have the Best Bake and Shark ever?"
"Richard's Bake and Shark is the most widely known, and legend has it that Richard invented this dish."

"It was mouth wateringly good. The flavours were a symphony of spices and sweetness (shadow bennie, pepper, and tamarind sauce) with the pineapple, tomato, lettuce, and red onion that balance the savoury bake and shark to make a beautiful bite that you think you can have 2 of. If you are not a big eater stick to 1. A beach day at Maracas Bay is not complete without those flavours. I can close my eyes and relive the taste. It was that cool."
"This sandwich haunts me. It's been more than 15 years since I have been to Maracas Beach and Richard's Bake and Shark. There is nothing else like it in the world."
"The bake was cooked perfectly and the shark had a lot of flavor."
"Great assortment of toppings. The other vendors on the strip(eg. Mom's Bake and Shark) are also very good, but I've found that Richard's typically has more variety. Particularly the mango chow and pineapple chow are big hits for me"
