Côte de Brouilly is a Beaujolais grand cru that is located in the Rhône department on the volcanic slopes of Mount Brouilly. The appellation mainly produces rich and concentrated Gamay-based red wines, but small percentages of Chardonnay, Aligote, and Melon de Bourgogne are also officially permitted.
Côte de Brouilly wines are characterized by their fruity and floral notes reminiscent of plums, apricots and iris, while their texture is smooth with not overpowering, silky tannins. These lively wines are an excellent match to pork and poultry, as well as game, red meat, charcuterie, terrine, and soft-center cheese varieties.
