"My dad used to take my brother and me here when we were little. It was a very particular place, with bocadillos de chistorra (and by sandwich I do not mean a boring sliced bread, I am talking about a tasty Spanish bread roll, and by chistorra I mean a special, rather spicy thin sausage). I cannot believe it has taken me so many years to check if the place was still there. I even forgot about it for many years, but it is a place I am very fond of."
"Keep your ears open for the sound of sangria soaked revelers and you will find the kind of shoulder-to-shoulder drinking experience only found in Spain. Grab a tasty chorizo and manchego bocadillo (small sandwich) to accompany your flute of sparkling wine."
"La Xampanyeria is perhaps the cheapest way to get tipsy and fill your stomach in the whole city. It’s a small bodega beside Port Vell serving greasy rolls full of jamon and other local favourites with absurdly economicable bottles of cava, which get spilled all over the floor in the thick of the exuberant crowds."

"Tucked down a side street on the edge of Barceloneta, this long, narrow, seatless bar is a must visit for anyone wanting a cheap, great sandwich and a glass (or bottle) of cava. This is no fine dining establishment; greasy sandwiches of sobrasada sausages, amongst others, are served in paper which is promptly discarded on the floor of the bar."

"Our recommendation; don't miss out a glass of rosé Cava and a Bocadillo de lomo con queso; a real delicacy!"
